Whats your take on their food? Up till a couple weeks ago, would have said their food was very good, especially the chicken wing special Mon. nights. Then my wife ordered a chef salad that arrived with a large dead black fly legs up in the middle of her hard boiled egg. When I brought it to the waiters attention, got a somewhat disdainful "well you won't have to pay for it" Duh -you think:no3:. What about comping the whole meal with profuse apologies..
Needless to say, it will be a long time (if ever) before they see any more of our money. Too bad really, used to enjoy the atmosphere. Thought of eating there again makes us cringe..

The Farley's in Ruidoso has a far higher food quality. Same menu just done better.
The Roswell Farley's has really fallen off.

Yeah but who wants to drive a hundred miles to drink a beer and eat some wings..also aren't all those resturants owned by the same corporation? Time for some quality control, or maybe its because they have a "captive audience"

It reverts back to the hiring base and education level here in Roswell they can't cook, stock shelves, or pass a drug test. But they want a job to keep the probation officer off of their back.
If we are not able to educate or young then we will suffer as the old.

We used to enjoy sitting on the patio, last time we went, in september, we waited 15 minutes and never saw a waiter.
It was not because they did not know we were there, in fact the bartender, said......."The patio is open someone will be there in a minute."
After 15 minutes I said lets go, we haven't been back since.

chief26 has the primary answer. Cattle Baron and Pasta Cafe service quaility has dropped off a lot lately as well.
Had breakfast at Golden Corral yesterday and had a great lady server. We gave her a nice tip because we were so impressed with the care she gave us. My only problem with GC is that they charge $1.89 for breakfast coffee and it's free for lunch and dinner.

Last time we ate there, a LONG time ago, tables were empty and still dirty, tables wobbly, waitress had a big gaping hole in her ear where one of those Tonka truck tires should go and food was only OK. The whole place was in need of a make-over. Wrote a letter and never got a reply. It makes me sick when business owners can't manage their business.Every few years a place needs to be freshened up, things need to be kept in good repair and clean. The people you hire need to not turn your stomach when you look at them and for GOD SAKE, where is the concept of customer service these days? We all want to reach 50,000 people so some more businesses might come to town...but who in the hell is going to work at these places? So many people are on drugs that they can't pass a drug test, and so many young people lack common sense and a clue about how to give good service that new business are not going to last due to the inability of owners to find good, qualified people. I am at my wits end. Every place I go to in town I get the worst service. People are not welcoming or friendly, the work they do sucks. I just thow my hands up. We hardly ever go out...I can cook a better meal cheaper and I do it far better than the places in town! I actually find better service at some of the fast food places than our sit down nicer restaurants. Although if Wendy's ever got my order totally correct and complete I might faint!!!

Rainbow, you should consider opening up a place of your own, but of course you would find that all the above mentioned problems would trully follow...:smk3:

The Roswell Farley's has really fallen off.
From what I hear, the Ruidoso Farley's has also gone downhill. My daughter was there weekend before this last one - we used to love going there when she was younger and she was excited to take her boyfriend there.
In her opinion, it is now run down and seedy looking and the food wasn't very good, either. She was very disappointed...:ohwell:

For sure - when you run a business, you should keep on top of things to present the best appearance possible because you're proud of that business and want your customers to be happy so that they'll come back.
It's not rocket science, just good ol' common sense and pride in your business.

Yesterday was my brother's 21st birthday. He wanted our family to go eat at Farley's and have a drink to celebrate his birthday. We had the WORST experience EVER! Our waiter had a "shadow" which is fine, but he kept blaming his "shadow" for messing up the order. When he forgot my drink and both mine & my husband's meals I mentioned to him that we were still waiting for our order. He tried to blame the new guy! I looked at him and reminded him that he was the one who took my order, not the new guy. The food was tasteless, the bar wasn't stocked--they didn't have 1/2 the drinks our table requested!! I went to speak with the manager and told him that our waiter was trying to blame all his mistakes on the new guy. I explained that I've worked in a restaurant before so I know a little of how things work and that I thought it was unfair to the new guy to be taking the brunt of the heat. The manager didn't even act like he was concerned/cared. My husband and I were ready to pay so we went to the front counter. The manager looked right at us and told someone else to help us! My husband said, no you need to help us and proceeded to tell the manager about the crappy food and service. The manager looked as if he was going to come over the counter at my husband. I told my husband we should just leave. Then he said, no I want my change, if they think they're getting a tip, they are very wrong! We will NEVER go back there again!

We haven't been back in over a year now and never did get a response from the letter we wrote to management at the time. Doesn't sound like we will be giving this place another try anytime soon. Sad.
