THREE MEN HAVE BEEN ARRESTED AND ACCUSED OF TERRORIZING AND ROBBING A DEXTER FAMILY IN THEIR OWN HOME LAST WEEK. ACCORDING TO CHAVES COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE VICTIMS WERE IN THEIR HOME ON SHADOW ROAD IN DEXTER WHEN THEY HEARD A LOUD BANGING ON THE WALL NEXT TO THE DOOR. ONE OF THE VICTIMS LOOKED OUT THE DOOR WHEN A MAN WITH A GUN FORCED HIS WAY THROUGH THE DOOR. A SECOND MAN WITH A MACHETE FOLLOWED AND THE FAMILY WAS HELD AT GUNPOINT WHILE THE MEN PROCEEDED TO RANSACK THE HOME FOR MONEY. A THIRD PERSON WAITED IN THE CAR ACCORDING TO THE REPORT. THE MEN MADE OFF WITH 1200 DOLLARS IN CASH AND PROPERTY. AFTER INVESTIGATING THE HOME INVASION COUNTY OFFICERS WERE ABLE TO ARREST SERGIO QUINONES, VICTOR CONTRERAS, AND LUIS JIMINEZ. ALL THREE HAVE BEEN CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED BURGLARY, ROBBERY, ABUSE OF A CHILD, CONSPIRACY, FALSE IMPRISONMENT AND BURGLARY. THE TRIO IS BEING HELD IN THE CHAVES COUNTY DETENTION CENTER.

If you live in the country, you need to be aware of how bold the crimmals have become. Make sure you have an alarm system, silent or not, that will contact the Sheriff's Department. A gun would be helpful as well. I'm glad that McWilliams and brothers managed to catch the a** holes. I hope the counts will do the same.

This morning I saw a video of another a** hole stealing over $400 from a girl scout cookie table in a mall. I say, put them away, one way or another.

Don't tell us, tell the courts.
New Mexico is known as the hug-a-thug State.

Not so much the courts as the entire judicial system. The ACLU has worked hard to give a criminal more rights than a victim. Judges also need to know what they are doing. Being a judge is an elected position, no experience necessary. Be careful who you vote for. Be sure they have experience and a good track record.

Courtesy of the ACLU. If we stop a car load of gang bangers we can only ask the driver for his I.D, not the passengers:new_shocked:

There was a report in the RDR Police Blotter this last week about 5 students on Spring break passing though Roswell on their way to Corpus Christi TX. They stopped in the parking lot of the Sheriff"s Office to fire up a 'bong' for the road thinking the building was a Museum. The kids were booked and let go to enjoy the rest of their vacation. On their way back, they have to see the Judge. What do you think will happen? Dusty Huckabee told everyone that he had to do 5 years for possession of a small amount of Mary Jane. Oh, how times have changed.

What possibly is/was gained by incarcerating someone for recreational use (or any use, for that matter) of marijuana? Seriously!!

OK, we tax payers get to employ more cops and prison guards, pay for more DA's and public defenders, and support more and more private prisons - I guess that's something to make us feel better (at least those of you who enjoy excessive taxation, and frivolous spending of those tax dollars...).

But. I see not a single gain for community, society, or culture from the criminalization of marijuana - I'm with Gary Johnson on that one....

We'd be far better off legalizing it, taxing it, and, if need be, spending gobs less tax dollars on treatment for those with marijuana dependence (an extremely small minority of users)....

Hey, I'm with you on this one. I just thought is was a funny story about how stupid our kids are these days and how lacks the police/courts are getting too. That was my only point.

We have the Tea Party, the Coffee Party and maybe someday we can have the Marijuana Party.

On May 1, 1969, I was an organizer of a "Be-in" on my college campus - the event was advertised with flyers and in the campus papers without any political descriptors. Something to the effect: "Some call it 'May Day'; some call it 'Law Day' - come celebrate a beautiful spring day on the commons with a 'Be-in'!!"

We passed out flowers, frisbees (and, some said, other entertainments :smk3:) and a merry time was had by all.

The local news reported an "anti-war demonstration" on two of the three channels; the third channel was flummoxed by the whole thing. All three reported that the solid red flags hung from some windows and the University Tower represented "communist" politics - they retracted that after a History grad student informed them that, historically, red flags have much more frequently flown over fascistic and right-wing regimes (i.e., Nazi flags).

I only recount this to point out that there has already been a "Marijuana Party".... :smk1: :smk3: :smk2:
