Roswell police were dispatched to the 300 block of West Country Club Road on the report of an alarm at that location. According to reports the alarm company stated the alarm was coming from a surveillance camera. The occupant of the building informed police someone had taken a camera from the back of the building.
Officers were called to the 700 block of Hobbs this weekend on the report of found gun parts. According to the report a dismantled gun was found in a box on top of a dumpster at that location. Inside the box was a gun barrel as well as grips from a handgun. The items were brought to the Roswell PD and booked into evidence.
A vehicle burglary was reported at Walmart over the weekend. The victim informed officers that someone entered his vehicle and removed a car stereo. According to reports, the back passenger window would not roll up all the way and the subjects entered the vehicle by that means. This case remains open pending review of store surveillance video.
A burglary call came in from the 300 block of East Church. The victim told officers she came home and heard someone inside the house. She then heard them going out the back door. Missing in the burglary was a small safe with jewelry and personal papers as well as a handgun. Officers determined entry was made by prying open a back door.
Officers conducted a routine traffic stop on North Main this weekend which resulted in the recovery of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle which had been reported stolen from Roswell was a 1994 GMC Sierra Pickup and was being driven by a Roswell man. Police have not said yet whether arrests were made in the incident.
A criminal damage report was called in from the 1700 block of West 3rd. The caller states that they were watching the house for a friend when it was discovered that the glass on the back door had been broken. The report does not indicate that there was a burglary involved.
An unknown person entered a house in the 1700 block of North Union and made off with an HP Laptop computer valued at 1500 dollars
On Friday officers responded to the 500 block of South Pine to quiet a loud party. According to the report officers had been to the location earlier and warned the resident about disorderly house. When they tried to arrest the subject a fight broke out with other family members joining in. Officers were able to restrain the subjects and arrested were Jorge Armendariz, who was charged with battery, resisting arrest and the original noise charge. Also arrested was Mabel Armendariz who was charged with battery, resisting arrest and obstructing officers.
And finally be wary when borrowing a car that doesn't belong to you. Officers conducted a traffic stop ot College and Virginia over the weekend. When the driver was searching for insurance and registration papers she pulled down the visor. At that time a bag of marijuana fell from the visor and into her purse. The driver told officers the car belonged to her boyfriend and she had no idea the drugs were in the car. Officers ran a check and the vehicle was not registered to the driver. Police confiscated the weed and transported it to the station to be destroyed. The driver was not charged.
