We're off to Conchas Lake for the rest of the week. The houses where the Corps of Engineers used to live are now being rented out and we'll be staying in one of those.

We haven't had our boat out in a very long time and I'm really looking forward to it! Hopefully, we'll catch bunches of fish - we 'fish' a lot, but rarely 'catch'. Just being out on lake is fantastic, but bringing back a mess of fish to grill would be even better!! :smk3:

Y'all behave yourselves while I'm gone.........;)

I hope you have a house sitter. You just told the entire world that you guys will not be there for the rest of the week. I think there is a nice huge trophy in there somewhere that someone would miss.

Oh yes there is! :) Catch a bunch Daisy! If you see mushroom clouds off in the distance, that means screw the limits! :)...O.L.

The Adobe Belle is a great place to stay. The last couple of years we would stay there at least four or five times.

Good luck the water temp up there is about right for them to be really feeding.

It was crazy windy, even more so than here. We finally got the boat out on the lake this morning and it was great! I caught 5 little small mouth bass (too small to keep) and one good sized white bass. This was after my husband gave me a hard time about using a silver rattletrap lure (which I like cuz it's so purty ;) ) and my old fashioned Zebco reel.

I highly recommend the Adobe Belle Resort cabins - they are very well kept and pretty roomy with two bedrooms, nice big kitchen, dining room and good sized living room. If you can't live without TV or Internet, this would not be the place for you.

We had a great time, just kickin' back and watching the wind blow over the lake...:smk3:

I guess he would not approve of my cain pole, bobber, and can of worms?

Oh, he would probably be okay with it, depending on what kind of fish you're going for. We sometimes use worms and bobbers - minnows, too. Caught some good rainbow trout on worms at Bonito last summer.

Don't have any cane poles, though - do they still make those? ;)
