Roswell Police responded to Farley’s at 1315 North Main on the report of a battery. After an investigation into the incident, officers arrested 38 year old Clifford Self of Clovis for battery and obstructing an officer.
Officers were dispatched to Pioneer Bank at 300 North Main in response to a forgery complaint. According to reports a Roswell man deposited a check into his own account in the amount of 54,000 dollars. It was determined the signature on the check was forged. Officials with the company the check was written on stated that the man did not have authorization to sign their name to the check. This case remains under investigation.
Officers were called to Park View Elementary School on the report of a known sex offender walking around inside the school. When school personnel asked the woman for identification she then left the school. The subject was recognized by her picture which was posted in the school. The picture was there identifying her as a sex offender. Attempts to contact the woman were unsuccessful but this case remains under investigation.
The Roswell Fire Department responded to a house fire Friday in the 3200 Block of Bandolina. According to Fire Chief James Salas, the fire started in the kitchen area and spread to the attic. The fire cause about 30,000 dollars damage according to Salas and the cause is unknown at this time. The house was occupied but nobody was home at the time of the fire.
