While searching for lodgers tax I found, IMHO one of the best citizen information sites for a City.

Roswell could use a website like this to answer a lot of our questions.

Neil, the only problem I see with a system like that is that all the data has to be entered. One of the biggest problems in any online information system is getting the raw data entered and then maintaining it. Roswell has only one person in IT (Larry Allsup). David Kunko, City Clerk, has been trying to convert all the data he is responsible for into PDF files. I talked with him about this over 2 years ago and I haven't seen any new data available online yet. Without a serious IT department to automate everything in City Hall, we will just have to keep asking.

It isn't done by the City of Santa Fe, it's an independent Company and they do all the work.

Every website has to have the data entered and needs an administrator to enter new info, maintain it and keep it up to date. I am the administrator of my car club's website and it's a lot of work to keep up with it. Billy set it up and taught me how to run it - he's a very patient teacher and never yelled at me the whole time I was learning. There were times when even I would have yelled at me...;)

It would be awesome for Roswell to have a site where citizens could go to find anything they wanted to know about the city. Since we started discussing that awhile back, the city website has been kept up to date better, but still could include a lot more information.
