Caught your attention!!?? Per TV news on 6/8/10 City of Bernallilo does not currently have a city manager, police or fire chief. They are trying to fill these positions during difficult fiscal times. Treasurer position is also open.
The mayor is in charge. Former city mgr was charging extravagant expenses to the city per TV reporter. He's history. Current employees are temporarily filling these positions at no add'l pay.
The mayor is now closely scrutinizing all dept budgets and expenditures. Apparently this was not done in the past. Now they are trying to control expenditures with less income.
Sounds like this mayor is a take charge kind of guy.
