Default Vandals in city park

There were 4 kids riding a go-cart with large tires in the park adjacent to Grace Church. 1 boy and 3 girls around 4:30PM the other day taking turns showing off to each other by going fast on the park grass incl thru the playground area and doing "donuts", etc. digging up the grass with their tire tracks. People take their children there to the playground and other park areas. Others walk their dogs there (some without a leash). These kids were having fun but at a risk to themselves and others while causing damage to our park. It scared some people away from the park. If we see this we need to call the police. If one of those kids had been hurt, or hurt someone else in the park, there'd probably be a claim or lawsuit against the city. For their own safety and the safety of others this shouldn't be allowed.

Where were the parents????

I wonder how many doggie turds they ran over? I remember those days except we used the VW after they watered the grass to get more slide. Nothing has changed.

I was thinking along the same lines as Murphy above -- I don't appreciate the go-carts in the park, but I don't think it's any worse than people walking their dogs and letting them do their business where children are playing either. It absolutely infuriates me to see dog "mess" in a park!

Hmm, I hate dog poop in the park (or anywhere else), too. I think it's a shame that people don't pick up after their animals and that they don't keep them leashed like they're supposed to.

But go carting in the park is worse - it tears up the lawn and we pay the city to keep the parks looking nice. That's vandalism. I agree, Rumpole, where were the parents and why weren't the kids taught where and where not to ride the go carts?
